Cafe Church meetings are popping up all over the world. You will find them listed for churches in every city in Australia, in New Zealand, England and elsewhere. It is an open forum meeting where people can talk about God in a familiar, informal, non-church-service environment.
Cafe Church begins at 3pm every Sunday in our Martin Watt Christian Education Hall with a time of chat, coffee making and snacks (cake, biscuits, afternoon tea fare). The discussion and question time begins at 3.30pm often with a short video to 'get the ball rolling'. Topics covered so far include Sharing Jesus without fear, Who is God?, Why does God allow suffering?, Assurance of |Salvation, the difference between a convert and person brought up in a church, the Christians world view and Forgiveness.
Children are welcome too. We have a large, securely fenced lawn where the children of all ages play freely while still within view of the parents. They also enjoy hot chocolate drinks with mashmallows. Yum!
This is a meeting open to all. We have the best coffee made on a cafe machine. Come and chat and enjoy the coffee, come just to listen or to ask those questions you've always wanted answered. Donate a coin or two for the coffee and all profits help support the work of christian Education in the High Schools.
